to El Salvador
Missions Team Report
The missions team is in the final preparation for our trip to El Salvador. We will be leaving July 22 - 30. We have 29 people going. We are working with our denomination through Allance Youth Mission. The team has been meeting weekly for training and preparation. We have focused on spiritual battle, team unity, sharing our faith and leading a person to Christ.
We will be conducting medical and dental clinics, having a VBS, working on a construction project, and having a team focus on prayer and evangelism. The leadership of the team is myself, Ryan and Brooke Hayward, and Mike and Wendy Brink.
Our financial support goals have been reached. As of this week, we have just under $40,000.00 in support raised. This has exceeded our goal and it has been amazing to see the Lord provide so generously. Approximatley 75% of the financial support has come from outside our church, as we are aware of the need not to over-tax our congregation with the other current financial needs of the church.
I covet your prayers as we embark on this journey. Pray that God's purpose is accomplished on this trip. We are going without a preconceived agenda and trust the Lord to set up divine appointments for us. Pray for personal relationships on the team. There will be no personal space and this can prove difficult. Pray that we will see people come tho the Lord during this time. Pray that we will bless Pastor Mario and his congregation in our efforts. Pray for discernment and wisdom as I take the leadership role on this trip. Pray that our church body will experience growth due to the impact of this experience in the lives of our members.
I appreciate the support of the church and its leaders in this calling. This experience has been such a growth opportunity for me.
